The California Alliance For Consumer Protection (CACP) is based in Sacramento California. Operating in the Legislature for over 20 years, the CACP specializes in issues that affect the basic concept:

“Competition is The Highest Form Of Consumer Protection”

As such, all the CACP’s programs are designed to expand consumer protection principals in areas where little or none exist, as well as expand consumer purchasing power(s).

Values

The CACP’s values are clear and simple: As a consumer protection group, we support enhanced consumer protection efforts and purchasing power, but believe that those are achieved through competition, as opposed to regressive legislative actions. As a result, we take positions on legislation that is based on the dual concept of 1) is is the position we are taking help or hurt market place competition and 2) does the policy expand or hinder consumer purchasing power.

Legislative Agenda

A boy scout lives by the motto “be prepared”. And in the legislative world, timing is everything, but even more so - being prepared takes on a new meaning. As an ex-boy scout, I take consumer advocacy seriously, and as such, have created an extensive legislative agenda over the years.
