Dear Consumer Friend;
Thank you for visiting this section of www.consumeradvocacy.com. I know your time is valuable, so I’ll get right to the point: The California Alliance For Consumer Protection is proud to unveil its new Consumer Protection News Service. We believe that because of the shrinking budgets of today’s media, combined with the fantastic growth of the internet and reporting opportunities, the only way to hold up the axiom “THE BEST CONSUMER, IS AN EDUCATED CONSUMER”, is for us to produce news ourselves. As such, this material will be made available to the public, as well as the media because its strong, educational content that’s written by California Consumers, for Consumers.
With that in mind, www.ConsumerAdvocacy.com is in the process of becoming a not-for-profit 501 C 3. This non profit consists of over a dozen news orieted websites that are tied together, yet based on individual themes. Those themes will help us create unique, one of a kind news stories, on a variety of subjects. those subjects include legislation facing consumers, the actions of other consumer groups, comments regarding legal matters, as well as the establishment of a vast consumer library with court briefs, news articles and professional advice from Advocates and Ombudsmen . As we delop them, the stories will be placed on line for selection and use, when you need it. The focus these news stories will contain one basic theme: to educate consumers.The information we will be providing includes (but is not limited to) the following subjects:
Combined, these web sites will publish Fresh Stories that will include:
- Department News — Not just from the Department of Consumer Affairs, but all departmental actions to protect consumers from scams and rip-offs.
- Assembly and Senate Interviews — focus on the Business and Professions and Judiciary Committees, the committees that oversee consumer protection in California.
- Secretary of State — from donations to corporate filings and how they affect consumer protection.
- The actions of Consumer Groups in and around the state and how their actions will impact California’s 36,000,000 consumers.
With those background in mind, we will provide this information to you in one of several ways. Generally speaking, it will be:
- Posted on line for your review and use daily (accessable via password).
- Email
To support our educational program, the Consumer News Service has created three membership options – all designed to be easy on the budget while stimulating on the mind.
Option 1: On-line media: Website Links: Content for websites – This is a simple and easy to use format – simply link our newservice to your website. This option costs less than $2 a week $99 a year.
Option 2: Written Media — stories created for your special use and publication. – Three times a week, you will be forwarded links (with a synopsis) via email that will take you to stories for your use (you must sign in to find and use these articles). This option costs $175 a month.
Option 3: Corporate Use: - Keeping abreast of Consumer Actions - designed for the busy executive and operations that are continually impacted by consumer group action’s. To facilitate this, we’ll provide you with weekly updates on what consumer groups are doing, legislation they’re sponsoring and what positions they’re taking that directly affects your business. Finally, it will include analysis and reports directly from legislative committee on what consumers said or did during important hearings. The information will be delivered weekly by email (Monday morning), this service option costs $325 a year.
